Libra's Little Nakita,
RA NA NAJ NAC NJC OGC, also known as Nikki,
is the sweetest Rottweiler you could ever meet. She gets along with
every dog she meets (even the rescues I used to bring home)
and always wants to know where I am. Her loyalty is
obvious and she is just fine doing whatever we do...
whether we're hanging out watching tv, going for a walk
(which can't be too far these days) or going for a ride.
With the exception of
TPLO surgery in 2001, her health has
been excellent. Her worst habit is wanting to chew
things up and her happiest times are when we first come
home; laying in the grass in the sun or going for a walk.
Nikki has always listened extremely well and often gets to
go without a leash on our walks. This picture of Nikki was
shortly after her 12th birthday in my back yard. Nikki and her brother have been
on a raw diet for a little over a year now and they are
looking and feeling great! Nikki is supplemented with
Fresh Factors and B-Naturals Immune Blend, which keeps her
from urping up her food or water. (this stuff is a BIG
relief to Nakita!) For treats, I always buy the Buddy
Biscuits (www.cloudstar.com)
or All Natural Good Buddy Cookies (www.castorpolluxpet.com)
from Petco or the Solid Gold Garlic Doggie Bagels; and Bully
sticks for chewing relief! (never rawhide)
Nikki
dabbled for a little while in Herding when she
was 9 yrs old. After just 4 training sessions, she was entered in an ASCA trial, which she qualified for both days!
Even though we don't have a title (same judge both days),
Nikki really enjoyed chasing those sheep for a few months.
Nikki isn't a beauty queen, but her personality, willingness
to please and total devotion make her one of THE best Rottweilers
I've ever met and I absolutely LOVE her. She is an
awesome companion. I am so glad that the last person
to look at her as a 5 mo. old pup said they wanted to 'start
with a baby puppy'! I can't imagine life without my
little Nik. =)
