Hello and welcome!  I maintain this page to tell people about the accomplishments of my dogs, a little about what it's like living with each breed, as well as info about my experience over the years of showing & training.  Hopefully, you'll find it easy to navigate and interesting.....

I finally took a picture of my kids, which you will find at "The Dogs" page.  I've decided that when I update this page, I'll put a new Alaska picture below.  This one is Ravine Lake and the light spots in the water are huge rocks!    I have been in Alaska for 34+ yrs and live with my dogs: 2 Rottweilers, a Long Coat Chihuahua and the little blond baby, Lea, a Tibetan Spaniel.

If you are here searching for a future pet, I highly recommend adopting a purebred dog from a rescue group.  Don't fall for the old belief that just because a dog isn't a baby, it won't bond with your family!  Do a Google search on your breed followed by the word "rescue" to find a purebred rescue group.  If you don't believe me, talk to someone that has rescued a dog or that has been the one rescuing, and you'll better understand how many wonderful purebred (and mix breed) dogs are in need of loving homes.

I am currently a Member of Alyeska Canine Trainers, American Rottweiler Club,  Chihuahua Club of America, Tibetan Spaniel Club of America and finally, Midnight Sun Street Rod Assn.  All my dogs, both big and small, are fed a raw diet of Columbia Natural Pet Foods.  For my personal experience on switching them over, see my page on Feeding Raw.

For those here looking for a place to train your dog, I have to say that there are still far too many people out there teaching the pop/jerk on the collar method of training!  Hanging your dog by its lead, the 'alpha roll' or seeing your dog urinating in fear are caveman ways of training and there are much more positive methods used today.  Go watch a few classes being taught at your local school before you hand over your money.  If they won't let you watch...  move on to another school !!  Training should be FUN for both of you.   See Favorite Links for Training & Behavior information and, search the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors site for a qualified Instructor close to you!!!
